While printing a book the most important thing which you need to keep in mind is the kind of printer which you will consider using. While looking for book printing presses nearby, always remember to check the following things. Check for how many years the press has been functioning. What are the customer reviews and how their services have been over the years. Also of course check their rates.

It is always a good idea to check out different press company and then compare their price and quality so that you can then finally settle for the best. Finally, before making a commitment, check the kind of book printing equipment they use. Printers are the most important thing to check when you print a book. So make sure that they are used well, good quality ink is use, there are no flaws in and also check how long has the printer been used. If you are going for digital printing, always go for the top quality printer. Of course it will cost a bit more in case of digital printing but the quality will be one of the very best.

There are two types of printing machines - a web press printer and a sheet fed printer. Web press printers are used for larger bulked deliveries (like of 2000 books or more). Sheet fed printers print a little less number of books than that. Digital printing is used for further less number of books (500 or less). So depending upon the number of copies you would like to have, choose your kind of book printers. Of course in the digital printers, the price per book is higher as compared to the web press printers and the sheet fed printers. If you want to cut down on prices then you need to have standard signature page count of 24 to 32 pages.

Now one question which might be going through your mind must be whether, the printing presses provide any kind of discounts. If their incomes are low or if it is during their off season, then you might get a discount. If you give them to print for the duration of the time during which they are absolutely comfortable with, some printing presses would give you a discount even then. Also depending upon the trim sizes and number of copies, discounts are given sometimes. Also if you buy your own paper, you can cut out the extra charge which the press would have been asking for.
